Summary

Course Registration Closes August 5, 2024. Last Date to Complete All Content is September 4, 2024. Summative Zoom Will be held on September 11, 2024 from 6-8pm eastern. 

Course Description: This 19.5-hour course examines the issues that relate to balance and falls in cancer survivors and how physical therapists across practice settings may intervene to promote positive change. Components of this course include an overview of frequency of balance impairment and falls in cancer survivors, characteristics that contribute to balance impairment and falls in cancer survivors, screening to identify balance-related problems and predict falls in cancer survivors, guidance regarding outcome measures and examination, and intervention strategies. Several special topic segments explore in detail material such as continuity of care, balance and falls in pediatrics, orthotics and shoewear to prevent falls, and advocacy.

Format/Process: Online deployment - 17.5 hours asynchronous online lectures, 2 hours synchronous summative Zoom session.  

Completion of course (Spring/Summer 2024 Deployment) - 

Participants must view all videos and pass the post-tests by 70%* before they can proceed to the next module. The asynchronous portion of this course (videos and post-tests) must be completed by the video closing date** at midnight, in order to attend the summative Zoom session! If you are unable to do so, please contact the instructor listed below. If this course is released in the future, there may be a chance to re-register; however, this is not guaranteed.

*An 70% pass rate is required to progress. Participants have unlimted attempts to reach this goal, but all have to be completed by the deadline – the video closing date.

**At minimum participants will have 4 weeks (until video closing date) to view content and pass post-tests.
